In an industry rife with misinformation, we seek to bring a high standard of ethics to every municipality with whom we work. Our commitment to doing what’s best for our clients is more than a legal responsibility—it’s a personal dedication to integrity and consistency in everything we do.
At Vulcan Consultants, we aim to realign the relationship between Wall Street and government bodies through customized, holistic asset management.
Vulcan rejects the ethical lapses, misaligned incentives, math wizardry, and selfishness that permeate our industry, and hold ourselves to a higher standard. This means always doing the right thing and providing honest, transparent communication so that our clients, their taxpayers, and our team can sleep at night.
Institutional investing is often seen as a black box that houses information only the experts can understand. But as educators at heart, we love elevating others by sharing our wisdom with our clients and building trust through understanding.
Our investment philosophy may seem boring to most of Wall Street, but because safety is your #1 concern, we believe it pays to be boring. The cost of cleverness and complexity far outweighs the potential reward. This is why we invest only in U.S. Treasuries and Treasury ETFs (unless extraordinary circumstances warrant exploring alternatives), and take a sustainable approach that is most likely to reduce risk and perform well in any interest rate environment.
Wall Street is cut-throat, but we believe the best way to disrupt conflict is to take a softer approach that redirects energy and restores balance. This means approaching every situation with empathy, putting egos aside, and pursuing balance in everything we do.

Vulcan Consultants is named after Vulcan Stamping, a metal stamping and container business founded by our CEO Kenton McCarthy’s great grandfather in 1916. The name carries a history of integrity and hard work. “Vulcan” is also the name of the Roman god of fire and forging, a tribute to our role in shedding light on complex topics and transforming the “raw” portfolios we work with into valuable results.
